PARS FOR PAWS GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Clay County Humane Society (CCHS) is sponsoring our 4th Annual “Pars for Paws” Golf Tournament on Monday, October 4, 2010. We will have a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. at the Eagle Landing Golf Club, 3989 Eagle Landing Parkway, Orange Park. All proceeds go to support CCHS. The format will be 4-person Captain’s Choice. Registration entry fee includes 18-holes of golf with cart; bag service, complimentary driving range balls; lunch; dinner; and prizes. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place scores; Longest Drive; Longest Putt; and Closest to the Pin. We will have drawings for prizes; 50/50 Raffle; and a Putting Contest. CELEBRATE LABOR DAY WEEKEND AT THE CUMMER
The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens celebrates Labor Day weekend with FREE admission for military personnel and their families. Military and family will enjoy our permanent collection, historic gardens, Art Connections and current exhibition Collectors’ Choice: Works of Art from Jacksonville Collections. Military personnel and family will be admitted FREE on Friday, September 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday September 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, September 5 from noon to 5 p.m. This special offer extends only to military (active, retired, veterans and reserves) and family, therefore identification will be required. Non-member guests will pay regular admission prices. The Cummer will be closed for Labor Day, Monday, September 6.
“Free admission during Labor Day Weekend is a way for The Cummer to honor and support our military and their families,” said Cummer Director Hope McMath. “We want to show our appreciation and gratitude for those have served and are serving our country.”

The 23rd Annual Southern Women’s Show in Jacksonville will take place October 21-24, 2010 at the Prime Osborn Convention Center. There will be three special guests for this year’s show:
-Sandra Lee, the Semi-Homemade cooking and entertaining star, will be appearing at 10:30am and 2:00pm on Friday, 22 October, to show you simple solutions for dramatic results for home entertaining.
-Point of Grace, the Grammy nominated and ten time Dove Award winning trio, will give an acoustic performance on the Fashion & Entertainment Stage on Friday, 22 October, and will be cooking a recipe from their new cookbook on the Cooking Stage on Saturday, 23 October.
-Tanya Sensney, "The Coupon Queeny" will be presenting her top 3 tips to start saving and much more during her daily presentations on the Mint Magazine Save & Learn Stage.

JAGUARS TICKET GUIDELINES
1. Jaguar Ticket sales will begin at NOON at the MAYPORT and NAS JAX USO Centers per the above schedule. Price is $10.00 per ticket - ACTIVE DUTY, FLA NATIONAL GUARD, RESERVE and DEPENDENTS are eligible to purchase/use these tickets.
2. Military personnel with dependents may buy a MAXIMUM of 4 tickets; 1 for the service member and 3 for authorized dependents. Spouses may purchase tickets, but under no circumstances are dependent children authorized to represent the service member/spouse to purchase tickets. Larger families desiring to purchase in excess of 4 tickets must be approved by the USO Center Director.
3. Single service members may purchase a MAXIMUM of 2 tickets, one for their use and one for a guest. NO EXCEPTIONS.
4. Please, remember that your Greater Jacksonville USO’s mission is to support our military personnel and immediate family members. Regrettably, due to the limited number of tickets we purchase from the Jaguar organization, Retirees and DOD civilians are not eligible to purchase these discounted tickets. However, if in the event we have an ample supply or receive additional tickets, a Quick Blast will be sent to notify everyone if tickets become available for purchase by Retirees/DOD Civilians. This exception will be on a game by game basis.
5. For deployable commands, a request for a “block of game day tickets” may be requested by CO/XO only to the Executive Director. These blocks may be approved for commands either deploying or returning during the season. Requests, with justification, must be sent to John Shockley, Executive Director at jshockley@usojax.com. A maximum of one game day ticket block request will approved for a command.
5. The Jacksonville Air show is set for October 23 – 24 onboard NAS Jacksonville. This is a great family event featuring top military and civilian performers, including the US Navy Blue Angels! Gates open at 9 a.m., Show begins at 10 a.m., FREE parking, admission and Kid's Zone! Open to the public!
JACKSONVILLE KIDS DAY

THE 8TH ANNUAL GREATER JACKSONVILLE VETERANS BALL
